Is your team is falling apart and you don't even know it

But you won't know it. You won't know if your team is falling apart. That seems to be the one giant challenge in todays virtual, distance learning, minimal control, invisible connectivity among employees and contractors.

Many companies and organizations have lost that ability to know about their team.

Why? Why has this happened?

Article after article, white papers abound sharing that methods for effective communication but the real fact of what is happening is loss of direction.

Your leadership might know their direction, the managers and supervisors know their directions, even the employees/contractors have a decent idea about direction but what is missing is the connectivity that brings all of those together.

Everyone talks about disseminating workplace information, how to communicate within a virtual workplace, and even the challenges of poor team communication but no one really addresses how to fix it all.

What is the answer? Wait, what is the question? Is your team falling apart and you don't even know it?

What causes a team to fall apart? Low morale? Inadequate communication? Failed job satisfaction? But it's amazing that rumor, rumors, kill team morale. Do you have one negative team player? Do you have one person that is constantly negative in your workspace? And how would you know?

All of the above can hurt your team but almost all can be dealt with. The one thing that can almost never be repaired is a negative belief. If one person gets into your team and spreads rumors, talks badly about the team, about the leadership, about the managers or even about the team or companies future you are headed for some real trouble.

One area that most companies fail miserably at is training. Training, consistent on-going training about attitude, self-worth, confidence. Almost no company or organization ever has a monthly or even quarterly agenda for training.

Do you realize how much negative is broadcast into your people's lives every day? Look at your TV programs and share with me which one are not pushing murder, death, violence, and that does not even mention the news media or even social media where everyone talks anger, hate, negativity.

What are you expecting from your people? The slightest challenge and they are extolling the virtues of another manager, another company, another job.

How do you combat this? You teach your people about your company, your people, their own ability to succeed, communicate more effectively. Bring in someone who can share stories of funny negative things that have happened and how your people can deal with these things and who they should be believing.

Teaching you people empowerment, effective communication skills, stress management, ho to be more effective at their jobs and in their position. Training them how to manage their managers or be more effective managers in order to help their team be more effective will change your company.

Isn't it time you started being more pro-active for your company and started training on a regular basis?
